It is a city of remarkable tourist interest, thanks to numerous monuments, squares, gardens, churches, etcetera. It conserves the largest historical-artistic center of Europe . Among its most famous monuments, the Giralda (the old minaret of the main mosque , today the bell tower of the Cathedral ) and the Torre del Oro are the two best known.
Of its neighborhoods, Triana , La Macarena , Santa Cruz , Los Remedios , Heliopolis and Nervión are the most famous. The area of the Cathedral, with the Giralda, the Alcázar , the Archivo de Indias and its surroundings were declared World Heritage by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) in 1987 .
