Seminario internacional «The Green Atlantic» se celebra los días 24 y 25 de noviembre en el marco del proyecto UPO FEDER, liderado por Matteo Binasco, «Las comunidades angloirlandesas del Caribe español durante la Edad Moderna».

En los últimos veinticinco años una gran cantidad de trabajos ha contribuido a mejorar nuestro conocimiento de Irlanda y de los irlandeses en el mundo atlántico durante la época moderna. Una serie de estudios fundamentales han trazado la compleja red de redes culturales, económicas, políticas y religiosas que conectaban a Irlanda con el mundo atlántico.

Así, El objetivo de este seminario es debatir el estado actual de la cuestión con los principales expertos en la materia y explorar nuevas perspectivas para evaluar la posición de Irlanda en el contexto atlántico y europeo. El seminario se centrará en una serie de temas clave como el comercio, la migración, la política, la religión y abarcará un amplio marco temporal que va desde principios del siglo XVII hasta la primera mitad del siglo XIX.
